66. If I share my secret, you're gona have to keep it

Shirt:  DIY, Self Made
Shorts:  New Look
Socks:  New Look
Shoes:  New Look

Hello all! I thought I'd wear my DIY shirt which I made yesterday, if you haven't seen the tutorial already then it's just below this post so check it out! I really love this shirt, I think it's one of my new favourite pieces in my wardrobe! I've tucked it into my high-waisted denim shorts and added a plaited belt around the waist, and pop socks and brogues to finish. It's a really simple look today as I'm supposed to be doing my uni work so I needed an easy outfit to feel comfortable in, and strangely enough the weather is gorgeous outside so I got my legs out to make the most of the sun!

Hope you're all enjoying your week! I'm off to see 'Friends with Benefits' night with my friend, anyone know if it's any good? :)

Tutorial Tuesday

Hey lovelies! Now I know I haven't been keeping up with my Tutorial Tuesday's and I do appologise, I will try and keep up with it all from now on! Although, as I have said before, it probably won't be every Tuesday otherwise I'd run out of idea's! I every other Tuesday I'll be giving you tips, whether it's something little or something a bit more challenging, so keep a look out!

Today I am going to show you how I transformed my Dad's old shirts into shirts that I can wear but a bit more funky and something that you won't see everyone wearing. It's really quick and simple and the outcome is really fun.

What you will need:
2 Shirts (men or women's)
Sewing Machine
Thread
Fabric Scissors
Pins

These are the 2 shirts I am using, both are my Dad's old shirts but don't worrie he said I could cut them up! And sorry about the poor lighting, the next few photo's aren't too bad so I hope you can see what's going on.

Decide which shirt you want to keep as the main shirt and which you want to use for the front panel. Once you have decided, you want to cut out the front panel on whichever side you choose. Cut up the side of the shirt, around the front of the sleeve, along the shoulder and then around the collar keeping the collar all in tact. After that make sure you finish cutting off the sleeve and cut off the sleeve on the opposite side. You don't need to be too neat as you will be trimming these down later anyway if you are using a men's shirt.

As you can see the panel has now been removed from the shirt so you should now only have one half to the front out your shirt but still have a full collar.

Now, the panel that you just cut out of the first shirt you now need to cut out of the second shirt. What I like to do is take the panel from the first shirt, place it onto the second shirt and cut around it in the same way you did with the first shirt. This way it keeps it less complicated and you cut out the right side needed.

Next you need to pin the panel from the second shirt to the first shirt, all the way up the side, along the shoulder and along the collar joining it all together. Then sew.

Once you have stitched that your shirt should look something like this.

After I stitched it all I cut the sleeves a bit so that they didn't hang over my shoulders, but obviously that's personal choice. And that is basically it! I tie mine up at the front but if you didn't want to do that you could always finish off the shirt with a neat hem to the length you want.

So there it is! I hope this all made sense! Please let me know :) As you can see I also made another cheeky one at the same time! My Dad recently got rid of a load of clothes so I'm making use of them :)

65. Take me with you

Blouse:  New Look
Trousers:  New Look
Shoes:  Primark
Briefcase:  Family inherited

I'm wearing trousers! I never wear trousers! But I do love these which I bought from New Look yesterday on my shopping spree with Mum :) I just love that they're a bit different with the brown stipe down the side of the navy blue trousers and they fit really well too. I wasn't going to do an outfit post today but I decided to in the end and paired these trousers with my cream blouse and tan brogues. I added in my Uncle's (now mine) old briefcase because I think it kind of went with the outfit and the colour scheme, and just to generally add something to the image :)

64. They say what goes up, must come down

Shirt:  Vintage
Shorts:  New Look
Shoes:  Primark

This is what I wore today. I haven't done an outfit post in a good few days now so I felt like I should! I really love this shirt that I got from a charity shop a good few weeks ago now. I just think it's so different and the panels of colour work really well with the low collar and neck-line. I have paired it with my silk, teal shorts today to keep the look quite colourful rather than just wearing a plain black skirt or something. Lastly, I've finished with plain black tights (as per usual!) and my unique black shoes from Primark.

I went shopping with my mum today for a bit of retail therapy, and to spend the money I had left over from London Fashion Weekend, and I bought lots of goodies and still came home with £20 so it was a very successful shopping trip! Here's what I bought:

I bought three pairs of fashion tights because I feel like all I wear is plain black tights lately, seeing as I had to throw my other fashion tights away :( I just thought my tights draw needed sprucing up a bit! The first are a pair of fish-net tights from Peacocks and the other two are from Primark, one with a heart line down the back of each leg and the other pair I had before and have hearts around the knee.

I bought this little beauty in Primark too! It's such a lovely skirt and so different. I love digging out clothes in shops that add something different to my wardrobe rather than just the usual. I think it keeps my outfits looking fresh and chic. This skirt was just £10.00!

I love these trousers from New Look. I've been eyeing them up for a while to be honest but never tried them on. When they first came in store I wasn't too keen on them but the more I looked at them the more they grew on me, until I finally tried them on today and loved them! I never really wear trousers or jeans, as you've probably noticed from my past looks, but I love all the chinos and trousers in at the moment so I thought it was about time I invested in a pair.

These two blouses are both from New Look aswell. I wasn't intending on buying both but I just couldn't choose between the two. On the first blouse I love the different coloured sleeves to the body and on the second blouse I just love the delicate detail on the collar and the cuffs, and the ribbon around the neck too.

Lastly, I got these cute knitted headbands ready for the winter. I just thought they'd be nice and easy and add something to my outfits.

63. You had me at 'hello'

Scarf:  New Look
Shirt:  DIY Dad's old shirt
Shorts:  Self made
Belt:  Vintage
Ring:  New Look
Shoes:  New Look

Hello lovelies! I've gone for a purple theme today, which I rarely do, but I bought this floral scarf in New Look last weekend and I wanted to wear it today. At first I found it hard to find things to go with this scarf, which isn't good because then it means I will buy more, but I ended up digging out these old shorts I made ages ago because the colouring matched and then put my navy blue, velvet belt around my waist to tie it all in. I've also gone quite formal wearing one of my Dad's old shirts which I reconstructed a couple of years ago and tied the scarf at the neck to look like a tie. I've gone for plain black tights like I usually do and my little heeled shoes to keep the look farely smart.

I have to appologise (if anyone even reads my blog lately) for not keeping up the 'Make it Mine Mondays' and 'Tutorial Tuesdays' I have been rubbish with it I know! I do have a tutorial to put up actually but the photo's are rubbish so I might do it again before putting them on here, otherwise no one will know how to make it! I really need to get back into the swing of things! I feel like I'm loosing followers which is not what I want at all!! I appreciate every single comment I get, which I know isn't alot, but in a way it makes it more special and the lovely comments I get just makes me want to blog more!

Anyway, enough of my ranting! I'm going to London Fashion Weekend tomorrow, very excited although I am jealous of everyone who went to London Fashion Week! You lucky things! ;) It doesn't start until 5pm tomorrow which I didn't realise so it's going to be a long day but hopefully I'll get some good photo's to post on Friday :)

Hope everyone has had a lovely Wednesday, mine was spend with the boyfriend which was nice :)
