08. The 70's

All from New Look.

Only one shot of my outfit today, but I quite like the outcome. I absolutely love these shorts!! Bought them a couple of weekends ago from work. They are 70's style hotpants and I was quite nervous about wearing them at first but I thought I'd get them anyway and they actually look and fit really well! I am pleasantly surprised :)

Hope you've all had a good day!

Tuesday 29 March 2011

Just a few random, jumbled images I found that I liked today. Been so busy with uni work, and I really should be doing some now but I've kind of come to a stand still :/ It's really not good. I still have 503 words to write of my essay that is due in on Friday and pretty much a whole project to try to put together before my tutorial on Thursday. Argh. Ah well, after this week I shall be off for a month, still finishing off uni work no doubt, but atleast I won't have to travel up to uni every day. And once I get these projects finished I shall upload the final photoshoots, if they turn out well that is..

Tried taking some outfit photo's today but I'm having one of those days where all of the photo's come out looking horrible :/ Maybe I'll ask my boyfriend if he can take some later. Or maybe I'll just leave it for today.

How is everyone? Had a good start to the week?

P.s - I'll leave you with this, something I also found today.

07. The sun is shinning, the weather is sweet

Hat:  Primark
Playsuit:  New Look
Socks:  New Look

Well, this look is actually from yesterday but I didn't have chance to post it. Seeing as it was such a lovely day I thought I'd go for a summery look to make the most of the sunshine. I wore my daisy print playsuit from New Look and paired it wish some black knee high socks and my festival hat. I also wore my cream brogues but didn't get them in the photo!

Had a really good day yesterday actually. Didn't have uni until 2 o'clock, so I had a bit of a lie in and did some work before my tutorial, then after that I saw my boyfriend and he suprised me with flowers :) The sun definitely makes everything better and puts everyone in a good mood :)

Are you all loving the sunshine? Or is it not so sunny where some of you are?
Have a good Friday!

Fashion Editors vs Fashion Bloggers

Ok fellow bloggers, I need your help!

I am doing an essay about Fashion Editors vs Fashion Bloggers and would love your views and opinions to help write my essay. The essay questions is: 'Fashion Editor vs Fashion Blogger - Discuss who will carry the most influence for designers and brands in the next five years (and beyond)? It would be such a great help to me if everyone possible could respond and spread the word, and I am also intreaged as to how you will respond as you are all bloggers yourselves. Due to this essay being opinion based I would love to use some of your views in my blog too to show a fashion bloggers point of view on the matter and what you have to say. Do you think fashion bloggers will be the most influential to designers and brands in the future, or do you think that fashion editors will always hold designers attention when praise or critisize their work?

Open to any opinions you have to say, the more the better!
Thankyou so much!

- ZOO Magazine.

Today I have been enlightened. My lecturer gave me a list of magazines I should start buying today including, DIY Couture - which teaches you how to make simple clothes (http://diy-couture.co.uk/). I think it's a really good idea for people who want to try their hand at making clothes if they haven't before, Distill Magazine - which is another creative magazine. Great for giving you inspiration from up and coming artists and designers, you can follow this one on twitter and the website is there, however it wouldn't work on my computer, (http://twitter.com/#!/distillmagazine). And finally, Zoo Magazine, (http://www.zoomagazine.de/). Now when I first heard this, I did think 'Isn't that a magazine for men?' But ooh no, this is a fashion/art/music/news/travel magazine. As you can probably guess, I haven't bought any of these magazines yet as I only found out about them today, but I have been on their websites and they are so good! Especially Zoo Magazine. Everything is set out in a really simple, easy layout on the website so you can read little snippets of information and then click on the website at the end of each one to see it all for yourself on whoevers website it is (if that makes sence?). This is now one of my favourite websites for finding out about fashion and I am now on a mission to find it in store so I can buy the magazine.

Please go and check out these websites, or better yet go and buy the magazines! I can assure you, you'll love them! Do any of you have any magazines or websites you'd like to share? I would love to check out more like these ones!

- Lovisa Burfitt

I came across Lovisa Burfitt's fashion illustrations yesturday in one of my lectures and straight away fell in love. I love this style of drawing, quite simple and messy yet so beautiful. Each illustration is so sketchy but somehow the proportions are all perfect. Burfitt's style seems so effortless and she herself describes her work as 'restless'.

If only my fashion illustrations looked this good!! Haha! I guess I better get practising!

- Fashion Editor vs Fashion Blogger

Afternoon lovely bloggers :)

Today I really need your help. I am writting an essay on who will carry the most influence for designers and brands in the next five years and beyond, Fashion Editor's or Fashion Bloggers? I will be researching both sides and weighing up the evidence of both sides, but as it's more down to opinion I would really love yours. Who do you think will be the most influential to designers in the next few years? Will Fashion Editors carry out more information for designers, or will bloggers catch the attention of designers to make a new take on fashion?

I am open to any views you may have, good and bad, and I would love to use some quotes in my essay so please give me your opinions.

Thankyou so much xx

06. If you can't find the time.

Cardigan:  New Look
Top:  Paris
Skirt:  New Look
Tights:  New Look
Belt:  Vintage
Shoes:  Primark

I've been meaning to wear my I <3 Paris t-shirt for ages now, since my trip to Paris, but I couldn't find it, however I finally dug it out this morning behind the mountains of clothes in my wardrobe. I actually really love this outfit. It's so comfortable and simple and not something people would usually see me in because I wear blouses a lot at the moment so it felt nice to wear something that people wouldn't expect me to be wearing. I also dug out my Ruby bag from New Look which I absolutely love and should really use more, but when I get a new bag I kind of just stick to using that one until I get a new one. I really should get out of that habbit. Maybe that way I'd get proper use out of things :/

Haven't done a lot today. Had the day off uni and planned to do tons of designs for my new project, but that failed and I ended up popping into town with my boyfriend for a wee bit. I have to say I'm quite proud that I didn't buy anything from New Look, like I usually do. Primark was my only give in today. I bought a new black and orange playsuit, a straw hat for the summer (and most importantly the Isle of White Festival) and some gorgeous black heels :) And all for £32 so I'm a happy bunny :)

Hope you've all had a good day!

P.s - Forgot to mention.. I took the two pictures of my T-shirt with 'Retro Camera', an app I downloaded from Android. I found out today you can choose from a range of different cameras to get different effects. I love it, I'd definitely recommend anyone to get it! And lastly, I do apologise for my horrible face in these pictures. It's the first time I've made my boyfriend take photo's of me for my blog so I was kind of embarrassed! :/

05. The sun is shining, and I'm smiling.

Blouse:  New Look
Skirt:  New Look
Tights:  Primark
Ring:  River Island

Wearing my new favourite blouse today which I purchased from New Look on Saturday, while working! This came in as a return, we don't actually have it in my store at the moment and usually I get a size 8 so when I saw that this was a size 10 I was gutted, but I fell in love with it and bought it anyway. What's the worst that could happen? I could always return it if it didn't fit, is what I kept telling myself. Everyone else was telling me it would be too big and I'd have to put a belt around it. So, I got it home and tried it on straight away and it actually fit! It's a little baggy, but I like it that way. I usually wouldn't go near this colour thinking that it wouldn't suit me but I loved the style of the collar so much and it turns out the colour doesn't look half bad! I've teamed it with a black body-con skirt, which is so easy to do but looks really stylish. I'm also wearing my River Island ring which I got in the January sales. I love the jade colour stone in the middle and the gems around the outside. I love rings at the moment. I can't get enough of them it seems.
So that is pretty much my outfit today, haven't done one in a little while but I had to upload my exciting new find!

Hope you all have a great day and it's sunny where you are too, if a little cold!

- Add some colourrr

Today is not an outfit post, as you can see. I've been so busy with uni work so I thought I'd upload these photo's that I took during the week. This week I bought some inks from the shop at uni to experiment with in my fashion illustrations. They are really good, so I plan on collecting them all over time :)

The second two photo's are of my cat, doing what she usually does, watching me do my work. She's so cute when she's like this, but really she's a little terror!

Hope you're all having a good weekend!!

04. Chilly Tuesday.

Blouse:  Primark
Skirt:  New Look
Tights:  Primark
Boots:  New Look
Coat:  New Look
Bag:  New Look
Belt:  Vintage
Ring:  New Look

Wow, wearing a lot from New Look today. I never really notice until blogging these outfits. I really should venture out of work :/ Very cold again today so I thought I'd better go with my big, bright blue coat to keep me warm. I love this coat and everyone always comments on the lovely colour. Wearing my favourtie boots aswell today. Everythough they have a slight heel they are so comfortable and make an outfit look really stylish. I am also inlove with this blouse from Primark. I've wanted a blouse like this for ages, one that I could wear as a dress or a top, and found this little beauty! I think it looks really stylish and quite elegant in a way.

Also, got a new battery for my car this morning so I'll be off to uni today without any problems..touch wood! Have a good day everyone! xx
