Sneak Peak

Hey everyone! I didn't have time to take full outfit photo's today because I had work, but I did manage to take a little photo to give you a sneak peak of what I am wearing today (excuse the towels in the background, typical bathroom picture!). As you can see I'm wearing my new clip-in fringe. It's the first time I have properly worn it and I have to say it didn't annoy me at all! Horray! So anyway, I'm going to take some photo's tomorrow of what I was wearing today so I can post the full outfit. Hope everyone has had a good weekend!

DIY Tutorial: Shorts

Hey lovelies! As I mentioned yesterday I wear my grey DIY shorts way too much and I found a pair of my Dad's black trousers the other day which he gave to me to cut up ages ago, so I decided to make them into shorts and do a DIY for them. What you will need is:

Trousers
Fabric Scissors
Thread
Pins
Sewing Machine/ Needle if you're hand sewing

Step 1. Get yourself a pair of trousers that you want to turn into shorts.

Step 2. Cut the legs to just below the length you want them to be. You need to leave enough room for a hem.

Step 3. If the trousers are too big the put them on and measure how much you need to take in each side. Then take them off and pin all the way down each leg.

Step 4. Sew along the pinned line (remembering to take out the pins of course!)

Step 5. Turn up the bottoms of the shorts twice so that you don't have a raw edge showing and sew that. It's always good to keep measuring as you take them up too so that each leg is the same length.

Step 6. You're done! That's basically it! I've also changed the button to a nicer one too. I hope this tutorial was helpful, let me know if you try it! Enjoy :)

90. Life is a game that you've just got to play

Hat:  New Look
Necklace:  Isle of White Festival
Top:  Ralph Lauren, Vintage shop in Paris
Shorts:  DIY/Self Made
Boots:  New Look

Hello all! Not sure if anyone saw my post below but I was having trouble uploading photo's for a couple of days but it's back working again so here is my outfit post from yesterday. I got this new hat at the weekend for £4 in New Look! Complete Bargain. I've also won a proper bowler hat on ebay so that should be here some when soon, very excited! This one is a bit more of a 'pie hat', as my Dad likes to call it, and is slightly grey with a ribbon around it so I am quite pleased because the bowler hat from ebay is black and a proper bowler hat so now I'll have the best of both worlds! I'm wearing my Ralph Lauren shirt today, which I found in a vintage shop in Paris in Feburary last year (I cannot tell you how much I wan't to go back!!), tucked into my grey DIY shorts with a red plait belt, plain black tights and black ankle boots.

I've decided I wear these shorts way too often, mainly because they go with everything, but I recently found some of Dad's old trousers which are black so I'm thinking of turning them into some more shorts like I did these ones. That means another DIY post to go on the list! I promice I will do all of these DIY posts as soon as I've handed in my work next Friday.

I also recieved my clip-in fringe in the post on Tuesday. It is unfortunately slightly darker than my hair in certain lights so it's not something I will wear too often, but to be honest I haven't tried it with my hair straight yet so I may do that tomorrow and it may look better. But what do you think? I fooled everyone on my facebook into thinking it was a real fringe for a while and everyone loved it!

Anyway, enough of my rambling! Hope everyone has had a good week! If you haven't already add me on twitter and follow me on bloglovin' below please :)

Trouble uploading photos..

Hey everyone! I just wondered if anyone else is having trouble uploading photos to their posts? I click on 'browse' and choose my image and then it looks like it's uploading but then says 'error' and doesn't upload the photo. I've tried uploading different images, images I've already posted (just incase) but it still won't work and it won't even work on my Dad's laptop either. So I just wondered if anyone else is having/had the same problems or if anyone could help? It's been like this for two days now.

It's such a shame because I have so much to post aswell! I have today's outfit, which can be found on Lookbook, if your interested, here, and I was going to show some sneak previews of some DIY posts that will be coming up soon.

Anyway, hopefully I'll be back soon once I've found out what the problem is!

Make it mine

Topshop:  £35.00

Topshop:  £30.00

Asos:  £42.00

Asos:  £25.00

I thought seeing as I won't be posting many outfits over the next 2 weeks that I'd post more things that I would like to buy and do more inspirational posts instead. So here I have collected a few items from Topshop and Asos to show you the things I would really love to buy right now but really shouldn't due to funds! I did buy this cheeky little hat at work today though. I've been wanting a bowler hat for goodness know how long now and I finally bid on one last night on ebay, and then I went into work today and saw this one for £4 in the sale! It was the only one left so I didn't want to risk it not being there by next week. I think it looks quite good, what do you think? For £4 you can't really go wrong can you?

89. Come away with me

Cardigan:  New Look
Dress:  Vintage, Urban Outfitters
Shoes:  New Look

This is actually what I wore on Tuesday but I've just been too busy to post it. But hey, better late than never! I bought this dress from Urban Outfitters on Monday from the vintage section. There is a faint pattern which you can't really see and the material is so soft, plus I love this shade of green at the moment. I think the gold buttons make it look really elegant especially with it being a shirt dress. I paired it with my black and gold belt for extra detail and my little ankle shoes which I haven't worn in a while. I've also gone for my chunky cream cardigan and think black tights and it was a chilly day again. The wind has been crazy over the last few days!

I've got two weeks to finish all of my uni work before the hand in so I am seriously stressing! I feel like I have done nothing over christmas and I really regret it, so I know that I need to work my little bottom off over the next two weeks to get it done so sorry if I rarely post but I will be back!

Hope everyone is having a good 2012 so far!

88. I don't want to stay without you

Cardigan:  New Look
Scarf:  Charming Magpies
Blouse:  New Look
Rings:  Aldo & Primark
Shorts:  DIY/Self Made
Boots:  New Look

I felt I had to layer up today because it was so chilly out! Underneath I'm wearing my beige, lace detailed blouse tucked into my green, self made, leather-look shorts and on top I've kept the green theme running by wearing my vintage scarf and chunky cardigan, all finished off with thick black tights and ankle boots.

I went shopping with my friends and boyfriend today and bought a few cheeky things, a couple of which are from the new Urban Outfitters store in Southampton (finally we have one!!), so I'll be sure to post pictures of them up tomorrow! For now though I am off to the cinema to see Sherlock Holmes with my boyfriend. Have a good evening everyone!
