96. Suspicious Minds

Waistcoat:  Charity Shop

Oh my, how long has it been?! I have been so busy and stressed with uni work recently and every time I tried to blog my pictures wouldn't upload, so I appologise for the lack of posts recently, although if you are a fan on Lookbook you'll see I have still been posting on there. I also appologise for the amount of posts I will be doing in the next hour as I have a back log of outfit posts that need to be put up! Does anyone else's blogger not upload their pictures sometimes? It's so annoying!

Anyway, so I wore this about a week ago to uni. I've tried to photograph this outfit before because I love the waistcoat but the light always shone on it so it wouldn't show the detailing, but I'm glad it worked here so that I can finally show it off! I also worethis huge bun on my head, if you hadn't already noticed! I didn't actually mean for it to be that big but then once I'd finished I couldn't be bothered to change it!

I wish I'd copied the codes to link to my lookbook now because now I can't have the link! Ahh well, follow me on loobook here, and bloglovin' below.

DIY Tutorial: Fur Headband

So as you may have seen in my outfit post below I made a fur headband today. Fur headband's are becoming very popular lately and I had loads of faux fur fabric lying around so I thought I would just make myself one, and also show you lot how I did so that you can do the same!

You will need:
  • Material
  • Scissors
  • Pins
  • Sewing Machine
  • Thread
  • Needle

So you will need material and for this I have chosen leopard print faux fur, but you can use any material you like, it will still work just the same :)

1. You will need to measure around your head to decide how long your headband will be. Remember to add about 5 or 6 inches to your head measurement to leave plenty of room to sew the headband together. I am making my headband 30 inches long just to be on the safe side as I made my first headband too small!!

2. You then need to decide how tall you want your headband to stand. I am going to make my headband 4 inches wide.

3. You will need to cut two of these strips, or one in your material and one in a linning fabric, it's up to you. I have gone for using the same fabric.

4. You then need to lay one on top of the other, right sides facing each other (the fabric you want to be showing face down on top of another piece facing up). You only need to sew down the length of the fabric on both sides, do not sew the width of the fabric as you will need to turn your fabric in the right way.

5. And sew!

6. So this is what you should end up with after sewing. You will then need to turn your headband inside itself so that the right side is then showing.

7. And it should look like this.

8. Now you need to attach both ends to finish off your headband, so take one end and fold the rough edges into the tube.

9. And then put the other end into the end you are already holding so that it makes a full circle. Once you have done that you can sew it to close the circle. You can either use the sewing machine or hand stitch depending on how thick your material is.

And that's it! I hope I explained everything ok, if you do have any questions then don't hesitate to ask. And if you do give this a go then let me know how it goes, I may even start to sell some in a few weeks if anyone would be interested?

One more thing before I go, please take the time to check out my facebook page (link at top of page) for Silent Sweetheart. It is still very basic and doesn't have much going on right now but in the summer I will be selling the clothes I make, including shorts, skirts, playsuits, dresses etc so please check it out as I do have an album full of clothes I have made in the past. Thanks!

Headband:  DIY/Self Made
Jumper:  Boyfriend's
Shorts:  DIY/Self Made
Boots:  New Look
Ring:  llymlrs

Hey all! This is what I'm wearing today. Very basic and comfortable clothes as I only had one lecture at uni today so I didn't venture out for too long! I'm wearing my boyfriend's jumper again (because it's just so baggy and warm!), tucked into my high-waist shorts, thick tights and ankle boots. And I also made this fur headband today too! I have done a DIY Tutorial for it so that will be up straight after this post.

I haven't been doing much today really, like I said I did have uni for a couple of hours but that was about it. I've just come home, made this headband and then not really done anything since :/ Better get cracking with my uni work I guess as I'm off to London tomorrow to buy fabric!

Hope you're all having a good day!

94. But will you love me tomorrow?

Blouse:  Max C Blouse
Shorts:  DIY/Self Made
Coat:  New Look
Boots:  New Look

This is my outfit from yesterday. I did try to do a post but my blogger was playing up again so I couldn't upload photos, but hey, better late then never! I took these pictures so quickly at about 8am yesterday morning before setting off to uni and it was -7 so I was freezing! So I thought I'd take some pictures of me with my big, thick fur coat on aswell as it is so nice and warm. That's the only problem with taking pictures outside, British weather is very unpredictable.

Anyway, I just kept my outfit very simple wearing my navy and white blouse tucked into my high-waisted grey shorts, with thick black tights and boots. I also added my navy belt for detail.

I also thought I'd add in a few pictures that I took this week to show what I've been up to. I've been thinking of making that a permenant fixture on my blog because I do take a lot of photos on my phone, what do you think? I've got a Samsung Galaxy S so I'm currently waiting for Instagram to come to android, but for now I'll just use my 'vintage' setting on my phone!

UNESTABLISH Sale

Hey everyone! I want to appologise quickly for the lack of outfit posts and not posting a full picture of me in the playsuit I made yet. I didn't get a decent full-length photo when I wore it out and since then I've been busy with uni work etc, and to be honest I haven't really been feeling myself lately. I don't know what it is but I just feel so louzy, like I can't be bothered with anything. I really need to snap out of it if I want to start and finish my uni project in 2 weeks!

Anyway, enough of me ranting! Today's post is about UNESTABLISH and the sale they have got at the moment. There is a link on the right hand side of my blog so check it out! Also, if you add the code TAKE10 then you get an extra 10% off!

Kelly Brook Underwear for New Look

New Look recently started selling Kelly Brook's new underwear range, and if you haven't seen it yet then here it is!

I really wanted to put this on my blog as the underwear really is gorgeous and well worth a look if you haven't seen it already, plus I bought myself some today and I found the fit was perfect! The prices range from £5.99 to £14.99 and on most of the range you don't just have one pair of bottoms to go with the bra, you get a choice of 50's style shorts, frilly boxer shorts or a thong. The range also includes suspender belts and fluffy slippers! The sizes range from 32B to 36F, so check it out here!
